Fall, Fall, Fall...

Hi Everyone!

Fall has brought many changes- I have started going to daycare three times a week, I now run, dance, sing, and knock on doors!!!! I am keeping mommy and daddy super busy. I can pull out all my toys and I am learning what clean up time is-- although I am not as good as my mommy wants me to be at it.
First Day @ Daycare:

Einstein is still my best bud- we just chase each other around the house all day. We also play tug of war with his toys and of course still play in his water bowl, try to eat his dog food and steal his treats from his mouth! He sits right in front of my high chair when I am eating and since he is sitting so nicely, I share my food with him. He is so good at eating the food right from my hands! When I am finished, he eats all the crumbs from the floor, my high chair and bib- mommy doesn't have to vacuum! I must say...He is just the best dog-brother in the WORLD!
Feeding Einstein:

We had one set of visitors from far away-- Auntie Jamie and Uncle Paul all the way from Winnipeg! We had a lot of fun with them being tourists around Vancouver. We danced to Elmo's song everyday- they told me it was now their favorite song!!! I am really looking forward to being a ring bearer for them in August- I can't wait!!!!!

With Auntie Jamie & Uncle Paul-

I had the opportunity to celebrate two holidays this past month. I enjoyed my first Canadian Thanksgiving (Oct 8th). Mommy and Daddy and their friends Andrea and Sascha over. They cooked quite the turkey dinner!

For Halloween I dressed up as the cutest bat! Me and my BFF Nateo went to Brentwood Mall and went trick or treating! It was a blast!

Trick-or-Treating with Nateo and my cousins at the mall:

All in all, life is pretty busy these days. I am about 24 pounds and 32 inches.

My first birthday is coming up on the 18th... For those of you who can make it here is the invite! :) I am having a tropical beach party!

Take Care... Enjoy the pictures below!!

Hugs and Kisses.

How you feelin' HOT HOT HOT!

Greetings from your favorite 9 month old!

Over the summer I have been traveling all over Canada and a heat wave followed me from the west coast to the east coast! The average temperature was 30 degrees Celsius (86F for my fellow Americans) wherever I went and can you believe that most people DO NOT have air conditioning on the west and/or east coasts?!! They say they don't need it and this summer has been unusually hot... To stay cool Mommy and I went to the mall almost everyday and window shopped! This summer, my family and I did take in some stuff in BC- the Caribbean Days Festival, Eurofest, and a Vancouver Canadians baseball game. As well- our second vistor came... "Auntie Christie" from Winnipeg spent a few days with us!

BUT...This summer I mainly traveled-
Snoqualmie, Washington; Pullman, Washington; Seattle, Washington; Kelowna, British Columbia; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Grand Forks, North Dakota; Halifax, Nova Scotia (with a brief layover in Toronto, Ontario)...
My passport is well used and my airplane ride count is now up to 11!

The highlights of the trips were meeting (Great) Aunts and Uncles (Thor, Misty, Rick, Amber, Kelly, Diane, Ann, Wayne, Tracy, Shelly, Danny, Carlene, Christine, Kendra, Chris, Paul,Lindsay) and cousins (Lucy- my dog cousin, Bryson, Dylan, Olivia, Chloe, and Ryley) for the first time. I also had a fun time with Uncle Ryan and Auntie Jodie! I was really really really excited to meet my GREAT GRANDMA BHOLA in Halifax. I just love her to pieces! We played peek-a-boo, she gave me tons of hugs and kisses AND I even took my first 6 steps in her condo (I took my first 2-3 steps in BC two weeks before this)! In Halifax I saw Peggy's Cove, the waterfront, ate lots of lobster (well Mommy and Uncle Leon), had a COWS ice cream, had a nice family "Trini" BBQ and of course checked out the new H&M store!

I also attended my first wedding- of my Auntie Jenelle and Uncle Jesse. It was held in Kelowna, BC (Canada's wine country) at a winery and the scenery was breathtaking. It was a beautiful wedding and I danced the night away! Mommy was her maid of honor, as Auntie Jenelle is her bestest friend!

In Winnipeg, I visited with grandparents and many Aunts and Uncles. We had a chance to officially celebrate Daddy's graduation with a nice party. It was a lot of fun to catch up with family and my parents friends. I also had a little toast for him-

Congrats to my Daddy

Your graduation has filled us with love and pride,
We always knew that you could do anything when you really tried.
It's was long and challenging journey to get your PhD,
But you wouldn't quit it, you just went and did it,
And we're beaming affectionately!!

Your achievement is awesome, Daddy
You've worked very hard and you've passed the test.
Mommy and I love you so, and we want you to know,
We think you're the very best!

We are now back in Burnaby doing our usual- playgroups, story time and walks at different parks on the weekend. I am now 31 inches and weigh 20 pounds, but still NO teeth! I am walking, side stepping, dancing, kicking, climbing on furniture, eating everything in sight and just getting into everything (as mommy and daddy would say)!!!

Until next time...
Sloppy kisses and squeezes from--

Seven Months of FUN FUN FUN!!!

Hi Everyone~

Sorry it has been so long since my last post but I am a busy guy! :)

First of all I will tell you about some of the new stuff I have been doing.... I crawl like CRAZY and am ready to WALK! I take every chance I get to scale the furniture and walk myself along it. It is soooo much fun! No teeth yet but I do get cranky at night so I think my top two are coming in. I have tried eating tons of stuff like brussel sprouts, avacados, carrots and sweet potatoes. My mommy and daddy make all my food for me.. It looks like hard work!

Over the past few weeks I have enjoyed visits with my cousins in BC- I got to meet my new one- Saavin... He's a cutie!

I went with Mommy to Winnipeg for a couple weeks. She worked on her thesis and I got to spend time with my grandparents... They fought over who got to watch me!!! hahaha.
I celebrated my 7th month birthday over there and enjoyed a Winnipeg tradition- a Jeanie's Cake!

We came back and celebrated Father's Day ( a week late- but Daddy didn't mind- he's the best!)
We are back to the "norm" around here... Playgroup, meeting up with friends and cousins, swimming and doing family stuff. I have been to 2 birthday parties too.. One for my cousin Jaya and the other for my cousin Jahan! The weather here has been great for the most part and I am outside everyday! Today it was FREEZING and I had to wear a warm hat and hoodie!!!

Mommy and Daddy celebrated their third wedding anniversary on July 2nd. They bought themselves a BBQ and patio furniture since they have the space to set it up! They already had 2 cookouts!!!

There are some pictures and videos below! Enjoy...
Love Always,
Kailas

And so the crawling begins!

Kailas has been semi-mobile for a couple months. He started off sitting up (when we would sit him down) at about 4 months. A couple weeks after that he would start moving on his bum and scoot around. He was rolling about the same time so it was a choice between scooting or rolling to get the toys that he wanted. He has been getting up on all fours for about a month now. Over the last week and a half he has been moving both his arms and knees! And so the crawling begins...
Check out his video:

And a P.S. It was requested that I put up the video of his first day of Green Beans. Notice how he doesn't like mom's cooking and spits it out in Daddy's face!

Video Blog Day

Please enjoy a few videos of Kailas over the past few weeks.

First is his swimming experience at the Tot Pool. We have been going every Sunday and he seems to like looking around, splashing and kicking his feet. He is turning into quite the water baby! It has been a nice family outing that is fairly inexpensive. We are also slowly getting used to showering, rinsing him off and playing tag team with him so we can all get dressed-- one needs to have some sort of strategy!

The second video is in his new Jolly Jumper. He tried this model today at playgroup (one of the other moms was nice enough to bring her daughter's for Kailas to try out). I ended up going on Craigslist and finding one for a quarter of the price at Toys R Us. As you can see HE LOVES IT! The only thing is... where do we store it?!!

Happy Second Birthday Einstien!

Today is Einstein's birthday and boy what a fun night we had! Mom made us party hats and we had cupcakes!

My cousins Jaya and Amaran came over and they gave Einstein a birthday treat- they are not as scared of him as they were before and Einstein really likes them!

I must apologize for not blogging as often as I had promised. I swear- I have an excuse!

First Nana Mohinder visited on his way back from India then Amma Linda was here for a while and then we headed off to Winnipeg for a few weeks! I had Easter in Winnipeg then Daddy, Mommy and I went to Grand Forks so Daddy could defend. So all I saw was that he was wearing a tie and he did a big presentation in front of a bunch of people. According to Mommy he passed and now we all have to call him "Dr" :) Congrats Daddy- you're a PHARMACOLOGIST... whatever that is.

While in Grand Forks, I had a great visit with Uncles Andy, Javi, Auntie Susan (they came from Brookings, SD/ Chicago, Il/ Boston, MA) , all my friends in Grand Forks and the Graduate School. I even got babysat by "Grandma Kris" (Mommy's old boss)in our room at the hotel while they went out to celebrate! Oh yea.. I also had fun at the the splash park at the hotel!

Daddy headed back to BC while Mommy and I stayed in Winnipeg. We had lots of visits with friends and family and we stopped in Calgary for the weekend on our way home. We stayed with Auntie Jenelle, Uncle Jesse and Maori. I had a blast playing with Maori, even though she thought my name was Charlie...

Now that we are home, Mommy is trying to finish up her Masters thesis so we can go to Winnipeg/ Grand Forks again this summer. She is also looking for a job now that she has her BC teaching license.

These days we are still going to play group and storytime. Mommy and I also went to Salsababies and the Vancouver Zoo this week with my friend Nateo (he is exactly one week older than me) and his Mommy Sharon.

I also got a new cousin this week (he is still a "No Name" like I was when I was born) so I am not the youngest anymore! He was born on Sunday- Mother's Day. We went to visit him on Monday and I was in awe... He is so tiny and so cute! Congrats Uncle Bunny and Auntie Jag!

I am a pretty big guy these days... I think I am 29 in and 19 lbs. I sit up on my own and I eat solids! (I will post some videos below so you can see how big I have gotten) I can hold myself up on all fours and I am trying to crawl! I will be 6 months old on MONDAY!! Can you believe it?

I will write again soon. Enjoy all the pictures and videos!

3 Months and I have already lived in 3 places!

Hiya Everyone! Sorry it has taken me soooooooo long to update, but it takes a while to get settled! Mommy, Einstein and myself have now joined Daddy in Vancouver from Winnipeg. We arrived on February 3rd, right before Daddy's birthday. I did well on the plane, I slept through most of it. Nani and Nana Kauldher came with us on the plane and Nani stayed for 2 weeks to help Mommy out. Nana stayed for a few days and then headed to India with his Daddy, Great-Grandpa Kauldher for a month. Daddy grabbed me as soon as he saw me and I just stared and stared at him. I really missed him after a whole month. Einstein also flew with us on the plane in cargo. He seemed scared when we got him, but he got over that quickly when he saw Daddy!!! We live on Gilpin Street in Burnaby. We are renting a cute 3 (so we have room for visitors) bedroom house with a HUGE backyard. Einstein loves it, and I am sure I will too! I have my own room that is decorated with all my favourite jungle animals. We live close to most of my cousins, with the furthest one living half an hour away.I see them at least once a week and we have tons of fun playing! I have a new cousin coming in May, so I won't be the youngest for too long.(My cousin Shaq is missing in this pic- will try to get a picture with him next time!)

Mommy and I have been taking the bus and have been going to the mall (YAWN!!! I sleep through that) as well as a play group called "Wee Play Together". I am the youngest in the group and enjoy looking around at all the action. Mommy gets to talk and visit with the other moms there, so I think she loves playgroup more than I do! We plan to go to infant story time at the library and swimming at the Tot pool in the next few weeks. We have also joined the Schnauzer Club of Vancouver with Einstein. Einstein had his first play date last Sunday, there were 6 standard schnauzers (like Einstein) and 5 mini's. This is the first of many play dates for him. He had a blast and was tired for 2 days after! All the other schnauzer parents commented on Einstein's speed and playfulness. Mommy had me in the Baby Bjorn at the dog park and of course I slept through most of it.

Life has been fun in BC, even met a celebrity- The Cat in the Hat! My days are slowly following into a routine with naps, story time, walks and tummy time. I am laughing like crazy, smiling and talking non-stop. I can hold up my head and grab on to objects with both hands (especially Mommy's hair) and I even pinch! I am around 28 inches 15-16 pounds. Daddy plans to defend his PhD in a a month or so, that means I hope to be back in the prairies for a visit soon! Daddy really likes his job. He is already running experiments. We plan to take the skytrain and meet him for lunch one day. Mommy is doing Hot Yoga with my Aunties a few times a week and hopes to join the gym. She has applied for her BC teaching license and will look for jobs in the late spring. I hope everyone is doing well and we miss all of you!

The New Year and Month Numero Dos!

Cars, rockets, planes and trains, these are just a few of my favorite things, boats and tractors are great it's true, especially for a little boy who's two... MONTHS!

We rang in 2009 with some happy and sad moments. Nani and Nana Kauldher were happy because they got to babysit while Mommy and Daddy went to a movie but we were all sad the next day as Daddy left for Vancouver. Shortly after, Amma and Papa Ray left for Texas. I was sad to see them go, but Mommy and I spent a few evenings with them before they left! They call every few days to see how I am doing.

Daddy is fairly settled in Vancouver and has found us a place. We are going to rent a house in Burnaby, and there is extra room for all my friends- so come visit! Mommy, Einstein and I will join him on February 3rd. Our tickets are booked and we are almost packed! I can't wait to see Daddy and show him how big I am and all the fun stuff I do!

Currently, my favorite things to do are putting my fist in my mouth,

smile and listen to music.... well besides sleeping, eating and snuggling with Mommy. I am being very spolied in Winnipeg by Nani, Nana and Uncle Leon. Someone is always checking on me, kissing me or cuddling! Nani and Nana even offer to feed me at 2:30 am, I guess that means that Mommy is being spoiled as well... :)

I also enjoy my baths, I love the water and splashing around! I love wearing my giraffe robe after my bath, it is so cozy (Thanks Uncle Rob and Auntie Rachael)

In my old age of two months, I have gotten very political! I watched Mr. Obama become my new president (since I am still American). I feel honored that I was born in a year of such great change.

I am looking forward to seeing all the change (hopefully for the good) in my lifetime.

Life is good, and looking forward to my new adventure in Vancouver. My stats are currently 12 lbs 7 oz and 24 3/4 inches. I am a growing boy!

I send my love and kisses to all!
