Over the summer I have been traveling all over Canada and a heat wave followed me from the west coast to the east coast! The average temperature was 30 degrees Celsius (86F for my fellow Americans) wherever I went and can you believe that most people DO NOT have air conditioning on the west and/or east coasts?!! They say they don't need it and this summer has been unusually hot... To stay cool Mommy and I went to the mall almost everyday and window shopped! This summer, my family and I did take in some stuff in BC- the Caribbean Days Festival, Eurofest, and a Vancouver Canadians baseball game. As well- our second vistor came... "Auntie Christie" from Winnipeg spent a few days with us!
BUT...This summer I mainly traveled-
Snoqualmie, Washington; Pullman, Washington; Seattle, Washington; Kelowna, British Columbia; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Grand Forks, North Dakota; Halifax, Nova Scotia (with a brief layover in Toronto, Ontario)...
My passport is well used and my airplane ride count is now up to 11!
The highlights of the trips were meeting (Great) Aunts and Uncles (Thor, Misty, Rick, Amber, Kelly, Diane, Ann, Wayne, Tracy, Shelly, Danny, Carlene, Christine, Kendra, Chris, Paul,Lindsay) and cousins (Lucy- my dog cousin, Bryson, Dylan, Olivia, Chloe, and Ryley) for the first time. I also had a fun time with Uncle Ryan and Auntie Jodie! I was really really really excited to meet my GREAT GRANDMA BHOLA in Halifax.
I just love her to pieces! We played peek-a-boo, she gave me tons of hugs and kisses AND I even took my first 6 steps in her condo (I took my first 2-3 steps in BC two weeks before this)! In Halifax I saw Peggy's Cove, the waterfront, ate lots of lobster (well Mommy and Uncle Leon), had a COWS ice cream, had a nice family "Trini" BBQ and of course checked out the new H&M store!
I also attended my first wedding- of my Auntie Jenelle and Uncle Jesse. It was held in Kelowna, BC (Canada's wine country) at a winery and the scenery was breathtaking. It was a beautiful wedding and I danced the night away! Mommy was her maid of honor, as Auntie Jenelle is her bestest friend!
In Winnipeg, I visited with grandparents and many Aunts and Uncles. We had a chance to officially celebrate Daddy's graduation with a nice party. It was a lot of fun to catch up with family and my parents friends. I also had a little toast for him-
Congrats to my Daddy
Your graduation has filled us with love and pride,
We always knew that you could do anything when you really tried.
It's was long and challenging journey to get your PhD,
But you wouldn't quit it, you just went and did it,
And we're beaming affectionately!!
Your achievement is awesome, Daddy
You've worked very hard and you've passed the test.
Mommy and I love you so, and we want you to know,
We think you're the very best!
We are now back in Burnaby doing our usual- playgroups, story time and walks at different parks on the weekend. I am now 31 inches and weigh 20 pounds, but still NO teeth! I am walking, side stepping, dancing, kicking, climbing on furniture, eating everything in sight and just getting into everything (as mommy and daddy would say)!!!
Until next time...
Sloppy kisses and squeezes from--
Kailas Andrew
